Enabling IMVironments

To use an IMVironment, your PC must have the following:

  • Microsoft Windows 98/2000/Me/XP
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.01 or higher
  • Macromedia Flash Player 6.0 or higher
  • 50k or broadband Internet connection
  • Yahoo! Messenger installed

To see and use IMVs, enable them through your Yahoo! Messenger Preferences window.

Here’s How

  1. Open the Messenger Preferences window by selecting Preferences from the Messenger menu in your Messenger window or from the Conversation menu in your IM window.

    The Messenger Preferences window opens.

  2. Select the Messages category.

  3. On the right side of the window, under Miscellaneous, click Enable IMVironments.

    Check Enable IMVironments.

  4. Click the OK button.

The next time you instant message a contact, you can share an IMV.

Tip: You can’t share an IMVironment with Windows Live™ Messenger contacts.
