You can ask a contact to send her details to you. When you receive the details, you can add the information to your address book.
Request a contact’s details in one of the following ways:
In the Messenger window, right-click the contact’s name and select Request Contact Details from the menu.
In the IM window, select Request Contact Details from the Actions menu.
The IM window displays an inline notification letting you know that you’ve made your request.

If your contact accepts your request, your IM window displays a notification letting you know that the contact has sent her details. You can accept or decline the details.
In the notification of the IM window, click Accept.

Tip: You may receive information from your contact that conflicts
with what you already have in your address book. For example, the
work phone number you have may be different from the one sent by
your contact. Before updating your address book with the contact’s
details, Messenger opens the Resolve Contact Detail Conflicts window
so that you can select the information you want to save in your
address book.
After accepting the details, the IM window displays a notification letting you know that the details have been added to your address book.

If you want to see what information was added to your address book, click View Contact Details in the notification.

The Contact Details window opens displaying the information for this contact.
When you receive a request for your details, the IM window displays a notification of the request.

You can send your details or decline the request. When you click Select Details to Send, the Send My Contact Details window opens allowing you to select the details you want to send to the contact. You can even edit them before sending.

When you finish selecting details, Messenger sends them to the requestor and displays a notification in your IM window.

Maintain your contact details in your address book so that you can share them with your contacts.
