Adding a Contact From an Instant Message

Any Messenger user can send you an instant message without being listed in your Messenger List. When this happens, an inline notice appears in the conversation area of the IM window, letting you know that the person isn’t on your Messenger List. You can add this person to your list by clicking either the link within the notice or the Add button above the notice.

Tip: You can also choose to ignore this user or report this user as a spammer. For more information, see the Related Tutorials.

 

Here’s How

  1. In the IM window, click either the Add to your Messenger List link or the Add button.

    Click the Add to your Messenger List or the Add button.

    The Add to Messenger List window opens.

  2. Complete the Add window as described in Using the Add to Messenger List Window.

 

What’s Next

You can also add a contact to your Messenger List from the IM window by selecting Contact Options > Add to Messenger List from the IM window’s Actions menu.
