Using Your Yahoo! Contacts From Messenger

Here’s How

1. In the Messenger window, click the Address Book button ().

   Tip: Press <Ctrl><Tab> on your keyboard to toggle between the Messenger List and the Address Book.

2. In the Find box, begin typing the contact’s name as it appears in the list—first name, last name, nickname, or Yahoo! ID. As you type, Messenger filters the list to match your input.

   

   

   

   Note: When searching for a contact, Messenger looks through the displayed name, which could be the first name, last name, first and last name, nickname, or Yahoo! ID. Be sure you search on the displayed name. For example, if the Address Book displays "Haly Keim," type "Haly" or "Keim" in the Find box. Entering Haly Keim’s Yahoo! ID will fail.

   Tip: The Yahoo! Messenger Address Book sorts contacts by first name if known, while your Yahoo! Contacts allows you to choose how you want to sort—first name, last name, or email.

3. To clear the search and show all contacts, click the Clear button.
