Using a Tab Plug-In

Tab plug-ins enhance the content and services that you can enjoy while using Yahoo! Messenger. You can use many of the Yahoo! products you already use, like LAUNCHcast Radio and Yahoo! Weather.

Tip: If you’re looking for activities to share with your friends, you want to use a conversation plug-in in the conversation window. To learn how, take a look at Using a Conversation Plug-in.

Here’s How

  1. Add one or more plug-ins if you haven’t already. (Remind me how.)

  2. In the Messenger window, click a plug-in to use it.

Click a plug-in to use it.

The plug-in expands in the plug-in area.

You can now interact with the plug-in.

  3. To display a full view of a plug-in (for those that require more space than the Messenger window allows), click the left-pointing arrow button to the right of the plug-in name.

    Click the left-pointing arrow button.

A separate window opens displaying the full view of the plug-in.

    Tips:

Only one full view can be shown at a time. If you click the arrow button of another plug-in, its full view replaces the one already open.

To close the full view window, click the close button (The close button).

  4. To remove a plug-in from the Messenger view, click the down-pointing arrow and select Close from the menu.

Select Close from the down-pointing arrow menu.

Messenger removes the plug-in from view.

  5. To restore a plug-in to your list, simply start it again. (Remind me how.)

What’s Next

If you don’t see a plug-in that you know you’ve installed and have not removed from your list, click one of the arrow buttons below the list to scroll through all of your plug-ins.

Click the arrow buttons below the list to see all of your installed plug-ins.
