Receiving a Video Call
Anyone who knows your Yahoo! ID and uses Messenger 10 can place a video call to your computer. You just need to be signed in to receive the call.
You’ll need a headset or a microphone and speakers to receive the video call. Though a webcam isn’t required for you to see the other person through your conversation window, you’ll need one to share your image with your friend. To optimize your audio and video equipment, use the setup wizard as described in the Introducing Messenger’s Voice and Video Features tutorial.
Here’s How
When someone wants to place a video call with you, a notification of the call opens in the lower portion of your computer screen.
You’ll also hear a ringtone unless you’ve disabled ringing.
Respond by clicking one of the buttons:
Accept: If you accept the call, the connection is made, and you can begin your video call in the conversation window.
Decline: If you decline the call, the connection isn’t made. By the way, your caller won’t know that you’ve declined the call.
IM Only: If you select this response, the call ends. A conversation window opens so you and your contact can communicate by typing messages instead.
If you don’t respond within about 20 seconds, the incoming call ends.
You can adjust the view through a variety of controls. The next task shows you how.
Either of you can end the call by clicking the End Call button.
