Changing the Messenger Language
You can indicate your language when you sign in as shown in the previous task, or change is through the Preferences window.
Here’s How
Select Preferences from the Messenger menu in the main window.
In the Language category, select a language from the pull-down list.
If this is the first time you’ve selected the language, a window opens showing the download process.
Restart Messenger to see the selected language or wait until later. If you wait until later, click the OK button to close the Preferences window.
What’s Next
This only changes the language in your Yahoo! Messenger and not in your contacts’ programs.

- Contact: a person with whom you interact; someone to whom you might want to send an email, instant message, or text message.
- Download: to transfer a file from a remote computer to your computer.
- Webcam: a video camera typically attached to a computer.
- Yahoo! ID: the name by which a person is known to all Yahoo! networks.
