Sending a File

You can send one or more files to a contact using Yahoo! Messenger, and it’s so easy. If you have a folder open, you can drag and drop files onto the conversation window or the contact’s name. You can also add files through the Send a File menu option.

Tips:

If your computer has a firewall, you may need to disable it before you can send a file through Messenger.

You can’t share files with contacts outside the Yahoo! network, such as your Windows Live™ Messenger contacts and Pingbox™ visitors.

Here’s How

  1. Begin an instant message conversation with the person to whom you want to send the file.

  2. Click the paperclip icon just above the input area of the conversation window.

    Click the paperclip icon.

  3. In the window that opens, locate and select the files you want to send, then click the Open button.

The conversation area of the conversation window lets you know that you’re waiting for your contact to accept the files.
