| What Is Archiving? | Setting Your Archiving Preferences | Viewing Your Archives | Managing Your Archives |
The Message Archive window includes features that allow you to manage your archives.
In the Message Archive window, select a message. (Remind me how.)
You can do any of the following:
Save
the instant message as a text file on your computer.
Delete
the instant message. You can select multiple messages and delete
them. You can also select a message folder and delete it and its
contents.
Take care when deleting an archive. Once it’s gone, you can’t get it back. And remember, if you want your archives to remain from past sessions, you need to make sure you have the correct preference set. To learn more, take a look at the task.
Begin
an instant message with the contact associated with the selected
message.
Print
the message.
Refresh
the archive. This is handy if you have the window open while you
are instant messages contacts. Clicking the Refresh button updates
the window to show your current instant messages.
Copy text by selecting Copy from the Edit menu.
Archiving provides a way to maintain a history of your communications conducted through Yahoo! Messenger. You can turn it on or off, as needed. When you disable this feature, previously created archives remain available through the Message Archive window.
