Using the Attachment View

If you want to narrow the basic search results to show you just the messages with an attachment (images, photos, files, and so on), use the Attachment View. From this view, you can preview a full-size image attachment, view the message associated with the attachment, and save one or more attachments.

Here’s How

  1. Perform a basic search. (Remind me how.)

  2. Click the Attachment View link.

    Click the Attachment View link.

The Attachment View page condenses the results to display messages with attachments only, and shows the type of attachment in the first column.

The Attachment View displays messages with attachments.

  3. Click the Subject text to view the message associated with an attachment.

View the associated message by clicking the Subject text.

  4. If the attachment is an image, you can preview the full size of the image by clicking the attachment icon (or thumbnail).

  5. To save one or more attachments to your computer, do the following:

    • Click the check box next to one or more attachment icons, then click the Save to Computer button.

Click the box next to the attachment icons, then click the Save to Computer button.

Tip: If you want to save just one attachment, you can also click the attachment icon or file name.

Click the attachment icon or file name.

Yahoo! Mail scans the attachments for viruses, then opens the Download page showing the files ready to be downloaded and saved to your computer.

    • Click the Zip & Download Files button (or the Download button, if you selected only one file).

In the virus scan results, click the Zip & Download Files button.

      The File Download window appears.

    • Click the Save button.

      The Save As window appears.

    • Locate the folder where you want to save the file, then click the Save button.

A message informs you that the file or files were saved in the selected location.
