If an email message that you’ve received includes underlined text, you’re likely seeing a shortcut. A shortcut identifies useful information, such as email addresses, physical addresses, and phone numbers, and underlines the information so that you can act on it. For example, you can click a phone number and add it to your Yahoo! Contacts or click an address and view a map of its location.
Shortcuts are easy and convenient to use...just place the cursor over one and choose an option.
Open an email message. (Remind me how.)
If the message includes underlined text, place the cursor over the underlined text, then select an option from the menu that automatically opens.
Note: The Yahoo! Shortcuts menu offers options appropriate to the underlined text. The following example shows the options you will see for an address.

A window appropriate to the option opens; in this case, a map of the location.

If you’ve selected an option to add the information to your Yahoo! Contacts, a window similar to the one shown below opens.
Specify whether you want to add the information to an existing contact or you want to create a new contact.

Note: If you’re adding the information to an existing contact, type the contact’s name, nickname, or email address (as they currently are in your Yahoo! Contacts) in the box below the first option.
Click the Continue button.
If this is a work contact, click the Work option; otherwise, leave it as Home.

Complete the contact information, then click the Save button.

You can choose to hide or show shortcuts in the email messages you receive. Click the Options link near the top of any Shortcuts window to open the Mail Options page.

At the bottom of the General options, select the shortcuts you’d like to see, and then click the Save button at the top of the page.
