Saving a Message to the Drafts folder

Sometimes you might need to stop in the middle of writing an email message to do something else, or you may want to save one version of the email while you try out a rewrite. You can save a message in progress as a draft in your Drafts folder. Later, you can reopen the message, finish writing it, then send it, or even save it to the Drafts folder again.

Yahoo! Mail helps you by automatically saving a draft of your composition periodically. To be sure that your draft includes everything you’ve written, save a draft yourself.

Here’s How

  1. Begin writing your message. Learn more

After a bit of time, Mail saves a draft and displays a message telling you so at the top of the page.

Mail automatically saves a draft about once every minute.

  2. When you’re ready to save a draft, click the Save as a Draft button to ensure that everything you’ve written is saved in your Drafts folder.

Click the Save as a Draft button.

Yahoo! Mail saves the email message in the Drafts folder and displays the folder’s contents.

Your saved message displays in the Drafts folder.

What’s Next

Your draft remains in the Drafts folder until you send or delete it.
