Personalize your outgoing email messages by adding a signature, changing the font size and color, adding emoticons, and more.
A signature is a few lines of text that you create one time, and Yahoo! Mail adds to the end of all your outgoing email messages. To learn more about signatures, see Adding a Signature to Your Outgoing Messages.
If you’re using Yahoo! Mail’s rich text feature, you can change the text of your message using the formatting tools. When you open the compose page, the rich text toolbar displays over the box where you type the text of your message. This task shows you how to use the toolbar.
Begin composing a messages. (Remind me how.)
With Rich Text on, the formatting toolbar displays above the message box.

Don’t see the toolbar? If you don’t see the formatting toolbar, you have plain
text enabled (or your browser or operating system may not support rich text).
Click the Rich Text link found to the right
of the input box to turn rich text on and to see the formatting
toolbar.
To learn what each tool can do, hold the cursor over the icon to see its tooltip.

At any point while typing the message text, you can use the formatting tools as you like. Below is an example of what you can do.

If you’re a no-frills type of person, or you’re not sure whether your friends can receive rich text messages, you can use plain text by clicking the Plain Text link found just above the toolbar on the right.

Mail removes the toolbar and the link changes to Rich Text. Plain text is your environment from now on until you decide to change back to rich text.
