Click the Compose Message arrow and select SMS.

Mail signs you into Yahoo! Messenger if you aren’t already signed in.

The Yahoo! Messenger window opens where you first enter the name of the person you want to message or enter a mobile number.

  2. Start typing contact information. If the person is in your Yahoo! Contacts, you can type the name or number. If the person isn’t in your address book, type the number.

Enter a name or mobile number.

If your entry matches contact information from your address book, Yahoo! Mail shows you the matching contact or contacts on a menu. Select the one you want or just keep typing until you’ve entered the information needed.

  3. Type your message in the box at the bottom of the window, then press the Enter key on your keyboard.
