Editing Contact Information

When information changes, edit the contact’s details so that you’re always up to date.

 

Here’s How

  1. Open Yahoo! Contacts. (Remind me how.)

  2. Find the contact you want to edit in your contact, then click the name.

    Click the contact you want to edit.

    The contact’s details open on the right.

  3. Click the Edit button on the contact card.

    Click the Edit button.

    The edit page displays.

  4. Make changes following these guidelines.

    • Labels followed by an arrow let you choose a different label heading for the information you enter.

      For example, the box to the right of Y! Messenger is for the ID you use when instant messaging this contact. Click the arrow to select a different label...

      Click the arrow to the right of the label.Select an instant message application.

      ...then type the value for that label.

      Type the ID for that application.

    • Input boxes followed by an add symbol (Add another input box) let you add similar input boxes.

      For example, if your contact has more than one personal Web site, you can add more Web site boxes. Click the add to the right of the box, then type the value in the added box.

      Click the add symbol to the right of the box.Type a value in the added box.

  5. When you’ve changed the contact’s details, click the Save button found to the right of the name.

    Click the Save button.

    The contact details update with the new information.

 

What’s Next

All of the information you provide for the contact can be used as a way to find the contact in your list. Add as much information as you can and you’ll be able to search for that contact easily.
