Adding Contacts to Categories

You can add up to 500 contacts to a category, and a contact can belong to multiple categories.

Here’s How

  1. In your Yahoo! Contacts, view all of your contacts, your connections, your unfiled contacts, or the contacts you last imported by selecting an option from the View button.

Select one of the top View options.

  2. Check the box next to each contact that you want to add to the same category.

Notice that several choices appear on the right side of the page.

Check the box next to each contact that you want to add to a category.

  3. On the right side of the page, click the Add to Category link.

Click the Add to Category link.

  4. In the window that opens, check the box next to one or more categories, then click the Done button.

You can add the selected contacts to more than one category in the same operation. You can also add them to a new category by typing a name in the box at the top of the list (up to 15 alphanumeric characters, no spaces).

Check the box next to one or more categories, then click the Done button.

When you display a category, you’ll see that it includes the selected contacts.
