Navigating Through Yahoo! Calendar

Yahoo! Calendar makes it easy to find your date and add an event by giving you a variety of navigation features.

Here’s How

Use these features alone and together.

  • View your events by day, week, month, or year as described in Changing Your Calendar View.

  • View all or a few of your calendars as described in Showing and Hiding Calendars.

  • Move backward and forward in the large calendar (day to day, week to week, month to month, year to year) by clicking the arrows to the left and right of the view label. For example to move from month to month, click the arrows on either side of the displayed month.

Click the arrows to move backward and forward.

  • Use the small calendar on the left to jump to a different month or a different year.

Click an arrow to view another year or a month to view a different month.

Notice that the small calendar changes depending on how you are viewing the large calendar. For example, when you view the large calendar by year, the small calendar shows years.

The small calendar display depends on the large calendar view.

  • Quickly return to today’s date by clicking the Today button. The day, week, or month with today’s date displays in the large calendar.

    Click the Today button.

An Example

Let’s look at an example of how you might use these navigation features. Today’s date is December 8th, and you’re looking at the month view of December. Your big party is happening on April 24th, so you want to enter the event in your calendar. Here’s one approach:
  1. Click the right arrow in the small calendar and to move to the next year.

Click the arrow to move to another year.

  2. Click April in the small calendar.

Click a month in the small calendar.

The large calendar displays the month and view you’ve selected.

  3. Add the event to April 24th. Adding Calendar Events shows you how to add events.

  4. Return to today’s date by clicking the Today button.

Click the Today button to return to today’s date.

What’s Next

You can also use the search feature to find the event you want. The Searching for Events tutorial shows you how.
