Sharing Through a Web Link

Sometimes you just want to share a calendar or to do list without wondering if your friends use Yahoo! Calendar or if they even have a Yahoo! ID. You can make your calendar or to do list available as a Web link. Your friends simply type the URL in their Web browser to see your view-only calendar or list.

Note: This Web link is different from the link you send to a specific friend through an email as described in Sharing With Permissions.

Here’s How

  1. Display the Share Calendar / To Do List page. (Remind me how.)

  2. Select the calendar or list that you want to share.

    Select a calendar or list.

  3. On the right side of the page, click Other Ways to Share.

    Click Other Ways to Share.

Your other sharing options display.

  4. Under Web Link, copy the URL.

    Copy the URL.

Tips: Don’t click the URL. If you do, you’ll open the item that you’re attempting to share. Instead, make sure the entire line is visible, then with the cursor at the beginning of the line, press the mouse button, drag the cursor to the end of the line, and release the button. Now you can copy the URL.

  5. If you like, set up other calendars or lists to shared. Click here to learn how.

  6. Click the Save button.

    Click the Save button.

  7. Send the copied URL to your friends (via email, text message, however you like).

Your friends can use the URL to see your view-only calendar or list in their Web browsers. All of your other calendars and lists remain private unless you decide to share them.

What’s Next

If you decide that you no longer want to share your calendar or list, click the Reset button below the URL under Web Link. Doing so changes the URL, and the one you sent to your friends is no longer valid.

Click the Reset button.
