You can add an event to your calendar by simply typing the event inline in any view’s time slot. While you’re typing, you can also modify a few details, such as requesting a reminder and specifying whether or not the event is repeated. If you have an event that requires more details, you can add these later or use the full editor as described in Adding Detailed Events.
Display the view and date in which you want to
add the event.
If you’re viewing your calendar by month, click the date to display the time range (day and week views always display the time range).

Specify the time of the event in one of the following ways (this example mainly uses the month view):
If the event doesn’t have a defined time frame, such as a birthday, click Add All-Day Event at the top of the time range. If you’re viewing by week, click the empty cell at the top of the week’s column.

If the event happens sometime during the day, click the beginning time slot for the event, and, if the event is longer than 30 minutes, drag the cursor to the event’s end time before releasing the mouse button.

When you release the mouse button, your selection’s ready for the event’s title.
Type the event’s title.

As you type the mini editor opens.
Use the mini editor to add a few details to your event—all optional.
You can:
Request
a reminder (any time from 14 days to 5
minutes prior to the event, or No Reminder).

Specify how you’d like to receive your reminder. You can choose one or all modes.

By
email through an account of your choice (defaulting to your Yahoo! Mail address).
You must be signed in to your mail account
to see your email reminder.
By instant
message through Yahoo! Messenger. You must have Messenger
8 or higher installed on your PC (click here to learn more)
and be signed in to receive your instant message reminder.
Note: Reminders are sent to the Yahoo! Messenger client on your computer (PC only), and aren’t sent to Yahoo! Messenger for the Web. Be sure you sign into Messenger with the same ID you use for your Calendar.
By
text message to your mobile device. Your mobile device must be registered
with Yahoo! Mobile (click here to
learn more).
Specify
if this event will repeat (a trombone lesson at the same time every
week is an example of a repeating event).

If you want to refine the repeat time, click the Advanced Options link at the bottom of the mini editor to open the full editor. The next task shows you how to use the full editor.
Add the event to a different calendar.

Click the Save button to save your event.

Your event is saved to your calendar. You can edit it any time as shown in the I Need to Reschedule tutorial.
If you want to add a sticker to your event as a way to identify the event type (or just for fun), click the Stickers button, then drag a sticker to your event.

Tip: You can drag a sticker to any event at any time.
Some events require more details. You can add details through the full editor as explained in the next task. If you want to edit an existing event, you can also do that through the full editor.
