Using the Online Timer

Getting Started Setting a Simple Schedule Setting an Advanced Schedule Granting Additional Time

Setting Up an Advanced Schedule

To set up an advanced schedule, you specify both when and how much time your child can be online for each day of the week separately. The schedule can be different every day.

By default, the maximum amount of time allowed matches the total number of hours for the time periods that you’ve specified. You may, however, want to limit your child to only a few hours during the day, even if you don’t mind when they use that time.

Here’s How

  1. Go to the Online Timer page for the child whose advanced schedule you want to set up. (Remind me how.)

  2. Click the radio button in front of Advanced Schedule.

Click the box corresponding to a one hour period to make it available or unavailable.

  3. For each day of the week:

    • Choose the periods of time that your child can be online by clicking each hour that you want to allow. Allowed hours appear in green, which restricted hours appear in gray.

      or

Select All Day to allow your child to be online any time during the day.

    • Select the number of hours that your child can be online from the Hours/Day pull-down menu.

  4. Click the Save Settings button to save this advanced schedule.

What’s Next

You can return to the Online Timer page for your child any time to change his advanced schedule or to switch to a simple schedule.
