Editing Your Child’s Friends List

By choosing the Restrict Yahoo! Messenger communication to friends list only option for your child’s instant messaging access, you assume control of your child’s friends list. You’re the only person who can add new contacts or remove inappropriate ones. Your child can’t modify her friends list without your permission.

Tip: Your child’s Messenger access must be set to Restrict Yahoo! Messenger communication to friends list only before you can edit her friends list. (Remind me how.)

Here’s How

  1. Go to the Parental Controls settings page for the family member whose friends list you want to edit.

  2. Click the Edit Friends List link under the Messenger gauge.

You can only add people with valid Member IDs or Yahoo! IDs to a friends list.

  4. To delete a contact from the friends list, select the check box in front of that person’s entry, then click the Delete button.

You can select and delete multiple contacts at one time.

What’s Next

You can return to your child’s friends list whenever you need to add or remove contacts. You can also add contacts by responding to permission slips that you child sends requesting additional Messenger access.
