What You Need

The AT&T Yahoo! Music Jukebox lets you transfer your music to portable music players so you can take it with you wherever you go.

Notice: At this time, Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go is only accepting new subscribers through select partner channels. Yahoo! Music Unlimited for PC remains available for all new subscribers. Yahoo! Music will continue to support the To Go tier of Yahoo! Music Unlimited for the foreseeable future. If you already have a To Go subscription and a compatible portable device, there will be no change to your service.

To transfer music to a portable device using the AT&T Yahoo! Music Jukebox, you need two things:

  • Transferable tracks stored in your My Music collection.

    • Tracks that you purchase from Yahoo! Music Unlimited or that you import into the AT&T Yahoo! Music Jukebox from other sources are generally transferable.
    • Subscription music is transferable if you are a Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go subscriber.

Tip: For more information on adding music to your collection in the AT&T Yahoo! Music Jukebox, see the Adding Music to Your Collection tutorial.

  • A portable music player connected to a computer that's running the AT&T Yahoo! Music Jukebox. Three types of portable devices work with the AT&T Yahoo! Music Jukebox. Depending on the type of music you want to transfer, you can use one or more of these device types, as shown in the following table:

Type of Device Type of Track in My Music
    Subscription Purchased Imported Stream
Subscription-compatible Yes [for Yahoo! Music Unlimited To Go subscribers only] Yes Yes No
Windows Media-compatible No Yes Yes No
Other (for example, iPod)* No No Yes No

*While the AT&T Yahoo! Music Jukebox lets you transfer your MP3 and AAC files to the iPod, you cannot transfer Yahoo! Music Unlimited subscription music or other WMA files.

Tip: If you're buying a new device, be sure it's compatible with your Yahoo! Music service.

Some of these players work "out of the box", so you can just plug them in and begin transferring music immediately. Others may need a software (firmware) update, which is free, or there may be specific technical help required. To get more information about specific devices, see Using Portable Devices with AT&T Yahoo! Music Jukebox Help.
