Defining Your Own Toolbar Buttons

Toolbar buttons provide useful shortcuts for actions you perform frequently and sites you visit often. You can even create your own buttons.

 

Here's How

  1. On the Toolbar, click the pencil icon, select Personal Options, and then select Add/Edit Buttons.

  2. Under Search & Navigation, check the box next to Your Own Button.

  3. Click the Finish button.

    The new button appears on your Toolbar .

  4. Click the down-arrow on the button, and select Edit Button from the menu.

    The Your Own Button 1 page appears.

  5. Enter a name for the button and the URL you want to go to when you click the button, and then select the icon you want to appear on the button.

    Enter the button's name, URL, and select a button icon.

  6. Click the Save button.

    The new button is now ready for you to use. When you click it, the Browser goes to the specified URL.

What's Next

You can create another button by checking the box next to Your Own Button 2 on the Customize Yahoo! Toolbar page and repeating the steps above.

  • Toolbar: a row of buttons across the top of the browser window that you can click to perform various tasks.
  • URL: Universal Resource Locator–specifies the location of a file or web page, such as http://att.yahoo.com.
