If You’ve Been Using AT&T Mail Classic...

Welcome to the All-New AT&T Mail Working With Messages Working With Addresses and Contacts

Working With Addresses and Contacts

Remember the Yahoo! Address Book, where you’ve stored all kinds of information about your friends, family, and other contacts? Well, Yahoo! Address Book has been renamed and redesigned—welcome to the new Yahoo! Contacts!

Instead of having a separate page, Yahoo! Contacts appears on the left side of the page, between the Trash folder and Calendar link. Just click the Contacts link to see a scrollable list of all your contacts on the Contacts tab to the right.

Select Contacts to display your list. Select one contact to view the contact's details.Enlarge

Select a contact from the list and the contact details appear on the right side of the window.

Any categories you’ve created appear as lists (List icon) along with all your other contacts on the Contacts tab. Just select a list to see who it includes. Click the Email button to start sending a message to all its members.

Click a distribution list to see its members. Click the Email button to send a message to all of its members.

Notice that now all your contacts are listed together, with no subgroupings like the categories in the older Yahoo! Address Book. Use the contact search feature (describe in detail in the Advanced Contacts Tasks tutorial) to quickly find any contact in the list.

Tips:

If you liked using categories in the AT&T Mail Classic, you can use distribution lists in AT&T Mail to organize groups of related contacts. Another way to simulate categories is to include a common keyword (such as "neighbor" or "scouts") in the Comments area for each appropriate contact and then search on this string to see the list of related contacts.

You always have the option of working with your contact information using the familiar Yahoo! Address Book interface by going to http://address.yahoo.com. Changes you make in Address Book will also be visible in Yahoo! Contacts.
