Tired of typing in people’s email addresses? Set up distribution lists for groups (large or small) that you email often. A distribution list is a group of contacts you want to receive the same email message. You can create a distribution list with up to 100 email addresses and then send an email to everyone on the list all at once.
Lists appear in your Yahoo! Contacts, indicated with special icon (
). Select a list the same way you select individual contacts.
This task shows you how to:
If you’ve used categories in your Yahoo! Address Book, they appear as lists in the all-new AT&T Mail. See Working With Addresses and Contacts for more information.
(More Details)
Click Contacts on the left navigation bar.

Click the Add List button.

A list of your contacts displays in the left pane. In the right pane you name the new list and add contacts.
Type a name for the new list.

Tip: List names can’t contain spaces, commas, or single or double quotes.
To add a contact to the list, start typing the name of the contact. When a contact appears with its email address, select the name from the drop-down list.

Tip: If you type a contact that does not have an email address, you’re prompted to type in that address. Once you’re done, click the Add Contact to List button.
To remove a contact from the list, select that contact and press the Delete button on your computer.
Tip: The contact is removed from the current list only, not from Yahoo! Contacts or any other list.
When you finish adding contacts to the new list (you can add up to 100 contacts), click the Save button.

The new list name appears on your contact list. When you select it, the names of the list appear in the right pane.
Select the distribution list that you want to send a message to from your list of contacts.
Click the email button to send an email message to all the contacts on the list.

Initially, the name of the list (not the names on the list) appears on the email message’s To box. When the message is sent, however, each person on the list gets a copy of the email message and all contact names and email addresses appear in the To: field.
Tip: To send a message to a list without displaying all the addresses to the recipients, include the list in the Bcc box and your own address in the To box.

To add contacts to an existing list:
Any time after you create a distribution list, you can edit it to add or remove contacts.
Select the distribution list that you want to edit from your list of contacts.
Click the Edit button to open the list for editing.

Follow the steps for creating a new list to add or remove contacts from the list.
Click the Save button when you’ve finished making your changes.
Select the distribution list that you want to rename from your list of contacts.
Click the Edit button to open the list.

Replace the existing name with a new name.
Click the Save button when you’ve finished making your changes.
If you no longer need a distribution list, you can delete it just as you’d delete any other contact.
Select the list you want to delete on your list of contacts.
Click the Delete button on the screen or press the Delete key on your computer’s keyboard.

A message prompts you to confirm that you want to delete the list.
Click the OK button.
Using distribution lists, you’ll find it’s easy to communicate with groups of your friends with one message.
