Editing a Contact

You can change or add information for a particular contact by editing the contact record.

 

Here’s How

  1. Open your Yahoo! Contacts. (Remind me how.)

  2. Double-click the name of the contact whose information you want to edit, or click the Edit button.

    Double-click the contact's name or click the Edit button.

    The editing area appears on the right side of the Contacts tab, displaying the selected contact’s information.

  3. Enter new information or change the existing information.

    • In the Name section, type the contact’s first, middle, and/or last names and a nickname, if you like.

      Tip: If you include a nickname, you can type it in the address box when you compose a message to this contact, and AT&T Mail will automatically complete the contact’s email address.

    • In the Email Addresses section, type the contact’s primary email address in the Email box. You can also enter one or two alternative email addresses.

    • In the Instant Messaging section, enter the contact’s Yahoo! Messenger ID and any other instant messaging information.

    • In the Phone Numbers section, enter one or more numbers for the contact, and select the primary number from the pull-down list.

    • In the Home section, enter the contact’s home address and personal web site address.

    • In the Work section, enter the contact’s work information and company web site address.

    • In the Dates section, enter the contact’s birthday and anniversary. You can also set up reminders for these days on your Yahoo! Calendar, if desired.

    • In the Notes section, enter any additional information about the contact in the Comments box.

      You can use the custom boxes to save specific information, such as the contact’s golf handicap, partner’s name, or other information.

  4. Click Save to save the contact information and return to Yahoo! Contacts, or click Cancel if you change your mind and decide not to edit the contact. (You’ll lose all of the information you typed in the steps above.)

    Click the Save button.

 

What’s Next

If your contact information includes email addresses, you can send email to one or more contacts.
