Getting Started With AT&T Mail

Introducing AT&T Mail Reading an Email Message Replying to a Message Sending a Message

Reading an Email Message

Obviously, one of the most common (and exciting) things you do with AT&T Mail is to read your messages. Each time you launch AT&T Mail or click the Check Mail button, AT&T Mail retrieves any new messages on the AT&T Mail server and adds them to your Inbox.

Here’s How

  1. Open AT&T Mail. (Remind me how.)

  2. Click the Inbox tab.

    Click the Inbox tab

AT&T Mail displays the contents of your Inbox.

  3. Click the message you want to read.

Click the message you want to read.

AT&T Mail displays the content of the selected message in the Reading Pane.

The content of the message appears in the Reading Pane.

Tip: To hide the Reading Pane, click the View button, and then select Reading Pane. When the Reading Pane is hidden, you must double-click the message to view it. To show the Reading Pane again, click the View button, then select Reading Pane.

Select Reading Pane from the View menu.

  4. You can also double-click the message to have it appear on a separate message tab.

The content of the message appears on a message tab.

  5. When you finish reading a message on a message tab, click the X button or type Ctrl+\ to close the tab.

Click the X button to close the message tab.

  6. To leave the message tab open and return to your Inbox, click the Inbox tab.

Click the Inbox tab to leave the message tab open and return to your Inbox.

Alternatively, you can click the Next (The Next button) or Previous (The Previous button) button to view another message in the same tab.

What’s Next

You can reply to the message that you just read.
