Searching for a Contact

If you can’t find a contact in your Yahoo! Address Book, you can search for the information.

Here’s How

  1. In the Contacts tab, type the contact’s first name, last name, email domain, or nickname in the Search Contacts box on the left side of the page.

Enter a name and click Go.

  2. Click the Go button.

The search results open on the right side of the page.

    Search Results

What’s Next

The Search Results page is similar to any page listing your contacts, and you can do everything here that you can do on a typical contact page: edit a contact, send an email, or add a contact to a category.

Words to Know

  • Category: a group of contacts in your Yahoo! Address Book. Categories let you send the same email to a group of people and let you organize information by groups.
  • Contact: a person with whom you interact; someone to whom you might want to send an email, instant message, or text message.
  • Email domain: a set of Internet addresses, such as for a web site or email. In email addresses, a domain is the part after the "@", such as "my-domain.com".
  • Nickname: a shortcut to a person’s contact information.
