Deleting a Contact

If you no longer want a particular contact’s information, you can delete the contact details.

 

Here’s How

  1. In your Yahoo! Address Book, click the check box next to each contact you want to delete.

    Click the check box next to each contact to delete.

    The selected contact(s) are highlighted.

    Note: If your contacts span several Address Book pages, you must delete the contacts on one page before deleting those on another page.

  2. Click the Delete button.

    Click the Delete button.

    Address Book confirms that it has moved the deleted contact to the Trash category.

    Address Book confirms that the contact is in the Trash.

  3. If you decide that you want to keep a deleted contact in your Address Book after all, here’s how you can restore it:

    • Click the Trash category to open it.

    • Click the check box next to the contact you want to "undelete".

    • Click the Restore button.

      Select a contact and click the Restore button.

      The restored contact is added to your Address Book’s Unfiled category.

 

What’s Next: How Long Do Contacts Remain in the Trash Category?

The Trash category stores deleted contacts temporarily. Yahoo! occasionally empties the category giving you time to restore any contacts that you’ve accidentally deleted. If you want to empty the Trash more frequently, click the Empty link.
