Working With Categories

Sending Email to a Group Changing the Default Category Changing How Contacts are Sorted Removing Contacts Renaming a Category Deleting a Category

Deleting a Category

You can delete a user-created category. Deleting a category doesn’t delete its contacts. They remain in the All category and any other categories you may have added them to. To delete a contact from your Address Book, see the Working With Contact Information tutorial.

Note: You can’t delete Yahoo!-defined categories (All, Unfiled, and Trash).

Here’s How

  1. In the Contacts tab, click the Edit link next to Categories.

    Click the Edit link.

    The Edit Categories page appears.

  2. Click the Delete link next to the category that you want to delete.

Click the Delete link next to a category.

The Delete Category confirmation page opens.

  3. Confirm the deletion by clicking the Delete Category button.

    Click the Delete Category button.

The Edit Categories page opens with the deleted category removed.

  4. Return to your Address Book by clicking the Contacts tab.

What’s Next
