Renaming a Category

You can change the name of a user-created category.

Note: You can’t rename Yahoo!-defined categories (All, Unfiled, or Trash).

 

Here’s How

  1. In the Contacts tab, click the Edit link next to Categories.

    Click the Edit link.

    The Edit Categories page opens.

  2. Click the Edit link next to the category that you want to rename.

    Click the Edit link next to a category.

    The Edit Category page displays the information for the selected category.

  3. Under the Category Name label, type a new name, then click the Save button.

    Type a new name, then click the Save button.

    Note: Your category name can have up to 15 characters and can’t contain any of the following characters: slashes (\ /), @, colons (:), semi-colons (;), brackets ( [] {} ), less-than (<) or greater-than (>) signs, spaces, commas, single or double quotes. But it can contain underscore (_)!

    You’re returned to the Edit Categories page where you’ll see your renamed category.

  4. Return to your Address Book by clicking the Contacts tab.

 

What’s Next

You can rename a user-created category as many times as you like.
