Changing the Default Category

When you open your Yahoo! Address Book, the All category displays by default. The All category shows all of the contacts in your Address Book. You can change the default so that the category of your choice displays when you open your Address Book. Of course you can view any of your categories at any time by clicking the category name on the left under the Categories label.

Here’s How

  1. Open your Yahoo! Address Book. Learn more

  2. Click the Options link found on the right side of the page.

    Click the Options link.

The Address Book Options page opens.

  3. Under the Personalization column, click the General Preferences link.

    The General Preferences page opens.

  4. Under the Default Category to View label, select a category from the pull-down list, then click the Save button.

Select a category from the pull-down list.

You are returned to the Address Book Options page.

  5. Return to your Address Book by clicking the Contacts tab.

Your Address Book now displays your chosen category and will display this category each time you open your Address Book.

What’s Next

You can change the default category view anytime you like by following the above steps. This is quite useful when planning your parent’s 50th anniversary party (category: GoldenAnniversary) or coordinating your companies annual picnic (category: CoPicnic).
