Using PageBuilder's Layer Controls
With PageBuilder's new support for layers, you can layer page elements to make a more sophisticated page design. For example, by overlapping text over an image, you can create clickable buttons.

Note: Layers make use of advanced HTML that requires Microsoft IE 4.0 or above or Netscape Navigator 3.0 or above to view correctly.

To use layers on existing pages:
  1. Click the "Open" button and select a page from the list. (Note: you should "Save As" so that you do not overwrite your page.)
  2. Once the page has loaded, select "Page Properties..." from the Format menu.
  3. From the Page Properties window, click the "Layered HTML" checkbox under "Page Size," and then click the "OK" button.
  4. Move one or more elements (like images or text boxes) so that one overlaps on top of another.
  5. Select one of the elements and use the "Order" button to cycle that element in front of or behind the other elements. You can also use the Arrange menu to control the order of elements.
  6. To view the page, click the "Preview" button.
To use layers on new pages:
  1. To turn on the layer support in PageBuilder, go to "Preferences" in the Edit menu. When the Preferences window opens, click the "Create new pages using layers" checkbox.
  2. Click the "New" button on the toolbar to start a new page.
  3. Place two or more elements (like images or text boxes) on the page and lay one on top of the other.
  4. Select one of the elements and use the "Order" button to cycle that image in front of or behind the other elements. You can also use the Arrange menu to control the order of elements.
  5. To view the page, click the "Preview" button.
