What's in the First Time vs. Returning Visits Report?

Use the First Time vs. Returning Visits report to compare the number of first time and returning visits for the selected time period. For each selected period, the report displays the following metrics:

• the number of first time visits
• the hour of the first time visits
• the number of returning visits
• the hour of the returning visits

Information Displayed in the Report

By default, this report displays a graphical illustration of the number of first time and returning visits to your site during a selected period. The level of detail that displays in the graph is based on selections in the settings panel. It also provides a table that displays the actual number and ratio of first time and returning visits to your site during selected periods, by the hour.

Accessing the First Time vs. Returning Visits Report

To access this report, go to Reports > Traffic > then select the First Time vs. Returning option.
