Edit Notification Preferences

Use the Edit Notification Preferences page to manage the types of alerts that you receive via email. Alerts help you to stay informed about important events that affect your accounts.

Receiving Alerts by Email

In the Edit Notification Preferences page, you can request to receive automatic emails notifying you of any alerts on your account. There are two types of email notifications, Daily Alert Summary and Alert Notifications. You can receive notifications at the email address listed in your user profile plus one additional email address.

Note: Alerts appear in the Alerts panel on the Dashboard, whether or not you choose to receive email notifications.

Setting up the Daily Alert Summary

This option enables you to receive an email once a day summarizing all alerts on your account since the previous day. You can customize your daily alert summary to include one or more alert types. Select from the following alert types.

  • Billing and Payment
  • Minimum bidding
  • Editorial
  • Campaign
  • Opportunity

To set up the daily alert summary:

  1. Click the Preferences link in the header of any page of your account. The Preferences page opens.
  2. Click the Edit button in the upper corner of the Notification Settings panel. The Edit Notification Preferences page opens.
  3. Set the Alert Summary Status to On.
  4. Select one or more alert types to include.
  5. Specify at least one email address, either the address in your profile, or an optional one. Specify an optional email address by entering the address in the text field.
  6. Select an email priority level from the dropdown list. This priority level refers to an identification flag or marker on the email when it arrives. The choices are high, normal, or low.
  7. Click the Save Changes button.

Setting up Alert Notifications

This option enables you to receive email notification of certain high-priority alerts. You can request notifications for the following alert types.

Billing and Payment alerts inform you that your:

  • account is Off due to zero balance
  • credit card is expiring
  • credit card has failed
  • keyword or ad group bid is above or below the minimum bid.

Minimum bidding

Note: You will also be informed about the minimum bidding statuses for your ad groups and keywords. Only one summary alert for Sponsored Search keywords, and one summary alert for Content Match ad groups, if warranted, will be sent each day. You can receive up to two alerts or emails by tactic. An email alert notification regarding bids falling below their minimums will be sent to the email address in your user profile, which you can view or edit from your Preferences page.

All minimum bidding alerts are defaulted to “on.” You can turn off these alerts if needed. You are alerted if:

  • Minimum bid requirements have increased such that your keywords or ad groups will soon become inactive.
  • Minimum bid requirements have decreased such that your keywords or ad groups are now active.

Editorial alerts inform you that:

  • your account is Off due to editorial issues
  • an ad group is Off

To set up an alert notification:

  1. Click the Preferences link in the header of any page of your account. The Preferences page opens.
  2. Click the Edit button in the upper corner of the Notification Settings panel. The Edit Notification Preferences page opens.
  3. Set the Alert Notification Status to On.
  4. Select one or more alert types to include.
  5. Specify at least one email address, either the address in your profile, or an optional one. Specify an optional email address by entering the address in the text field.
  6. Click the Save Changes button.
