Overview: Campaign Tune-Up

Use Campaign Tune-up to analyze your campaigns to generate a proposal of suggested keyword bids, match types and spending limits that may help you improve campaign performance. Available to advertiser accounts at least 90 days old, Campaign Tune-up allows you to provide our system with information on your campaign goals for your campaigns then analyzes your campaigns factoring in performance history, estimated future performance, monthly budget and your most important business metric (i.e. conversion funnel event). When the tune-up is complete you can decide whether or not you want to apply the recommendations provided in the proposal.

A campaign tune-up may help you create a better-performing campaign by proposing:

  • Bids for all of your Sponsored Search keywords that can help improve your ROI
  • Match type settings for each Sponsored Search keyword to help improve relevance
  • A campaign daily spending limit to accommodate the proposed keyword bids

How It Works

The campaign tune-up analyzes your current campaign settings with regard to your stated monthly budget and the business metric most important to you. After finishing the analysis, you'll receive notification in the alerts panel of your account Dashboard that your tune-up proposal is ready. The tune-up generates a proposal containing a set of keyword bids, associated match types (Advanced or Standard) and a campaign daily spending limit. It’s then up to you to either accept the proposal and have the changes applied to your campaign, or to reject it. Nothing in your account is changed until you say so.

If you do apply the proposal recommendations, you can always change your individual keyword bids later. You can also run additional tune-ups whenever you want.

Other Considerations

  • If your account supports campaign optimization, you will only have access to the tune-up feature when optimization is turned off for the campaign.
  • The tune-up only applies to Sponsored Search keywords. Before starting the tune-up, you must turn on Sponsored Search for your account and campaign. If your campaign includes Content Match ad groups, these ad groups are disregarded during the analysis.
