Review and Activate Your Ad
The Review and Activate step allows you to review the details of your the newly created account, edit the ad, enter account log-in information and activate your account. Remember, you must click on the Activate Now button to complete your account set-up, otherwise your account is not created and your ad cannot be displayed. You can also save your ad until you are ready to activate your account by clicking on the “activate later” link.
Next, you will be required to enter your contact information. After completing the Contact Information page, you will complete the Billing Information page.
The Billing Information page includes four sections:
- Payment Type – Select a payment type. You have the option to fund your account using either PayPal or your credit card.
- Summary of Charges – The Deposit Amount defaults to 30 times the Account Daily Spending Limit you specified in Step #3. You can display a different deposit amount up to $1,000 in the available space. The deposit amount must be at least $30 (based on the minimum required daily spending limit amount of $1). You should select a deposit amount that is sufficient to run your ads based on your previously specified daily spending limit and maximum bid amount.
Note: If you used a promotion code during sign-up, the amount of your sign-up credit will display below your Deposit Amount. Please allow 72 hours for your credit to be processed and reflected in your account. Before your sign-up credit is applied, you need to have an existing balance in your account. You may also view the status of your credit in the Account Summary section under the Dashboard tab.
- Automatic Charge Amount – This is the amount you will be charged on an ongoing basis every time your balance is low*. We recommend that you choose an amount equal to or greater than your Approximate Monthly spend. To help avoid multiple charges per day, your Automatic Charge Amount should be at least as much as your Account Daily Spending Limit.
- Payment Information – If you select to pay using your credit card, this section allows you to enter your credit card information. This account will be used for charging future debits. When your balance is low,* the credit card account will be automatically charged either the amount spent over the last three days, or three times the account daily spending limit, whichever is lower.
Note: Your deposit amount is used to gauge the amount that is charged to your account when your balance is low. A low balance occurs when your account does not have enough funds to last for three days of click charges, based on your prior three days of click charges. To avoid multiple charges in one day, you may want to set your deposit amount to at least three times your account daily spending limit.
A confirmation page is the last page you will see once you’ve activated your account. Once you’ve completed the online sign-up process, the account is set up and ready to be accessed. If no sensitive content is contained in the ad, it can begin to be displayed within minutes.
At the end of this process you will have had the opportunity to create a single Sponsored Search campaign with one ad group, one ad with title, description and URL, and up to 50 keywords that all share the same bid. You can also now log into your account and add additional ad groups, keywords, and ads to the campaign you created in the signup process or you can create new campaigns. In addition, you can set individual keyword bids, as well as track the performance of all of the campaigns in your account.
*A low balance occurs when Yahoo determines that your account does not have enough funds to last for three days of click charges, and is based on your prior three days of click charges.
