Traffic Quality
We are committed to increasing transparency into the quality of traffic that we provide to you and providing you with better control over where your ads display. Some of the account features that are designed to assist you in monitoring your traffic and include the following:
The Blocked Domains feature lets you specify websites in our partner distribution network where you do not want your Sponsored Search or Content Match ads to be displayed.
Blocked Domains helps you connect with traffic that better meets your business needs. For example, you might sell video game software, but you don’t want your ad to appear on certain sites that only appeal to online video game enthusiasts. You could then block the online video game websites, so that your ads will not appear there. Or, you may have identified lower-performing sites where your ads have appeared using data from the Ad Delivery Report. You can use Blocked Domains to block those domains that do not meet your Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) goals and may be less cost effective.
Benefits of blocked domains include:
- Block your ads from hundreds of web sites*
- Works with Sponsored Search and Content Match
- Block sites on your entire account
- Complements our pricing algorithms which are designed to take into account our assessment of the performance of traffic sources within our network
*Currently, it is not possible to block a Yahoo! domain

In determining what you are charged per click on a site within our partner network, we take into account the performance of our partners’ traffic to further align the value you receive from our partner network with the performance of the traffic provided to you. Depending on the performance of the traffic source, you can receive deeper discounts on lower-performing traffic and potential premiums on higher-performing traffic.
Here’s how pricing works:
- We’ll evaluate the quality of traffic from our distribution network.
- Your click charges can be adjusted based on our assessment of the quality of that traffic.
- Discounts and/or premiums will automatically be applied to your account.
As always, you will never pay more than the amount you specify as your bid (including any bid adjustments you make for desired audiences) on a particular keyword.
Click Filter Report
The Click Filter Report provides information about the number of clicks on your ads that our Click Protection System has identified as invalid and, as a result, we did not charge you for. The Click Filter Report is available in your account interface.
