Yahoo! Search Marketing Desktop Release Notes V1.2.0.0

This release note describes the most recent changes and enhancements to the Yahoo! Search Marketing Desktop application, released as version 1.2.0.0.

Version 1.2.0.0 has been released into Production

New Features

The key features in this launch are:

  • Excluded Words – import, add, and view your excluded words to the account, campaign, and ad group level(s).
  • Campaign Management – download selected campaign(s) for a given account, instead of downloading the entire account and switch between accounts within a working session without having to post changes and re-download.
  • Custom Mapping –import your third-party information and then set or and customize your headers before you complete your import. This is also useful when the you want to set all the column headers and import options in a particular way, save them, and then select those settings on a future import. This saves you from having to remap the column headers and import options on a future import.

For example, you import data in an unknown format then you can select the proper column headers for your import and then save these selections as a custom mapping that can be used again.

  • Column Settings – select if empty or invalid columns should be ignored during the import process.

For example, if the Sponsored Search Bid is invalid in your bulksheet and you want to keep the current bid, then you should check the "Ignore if Invalid" checkbox for "Sponsored Search Bid (USD)".

Bug Fixes

The bug fixes in this launch are:

  • You can now search by account ID on the account download module.
  • From the Advanced Search module, you can now search on keyword match type.
  • Duplicate keywords are now imported and not ignored.
  • You can select the date format for your imported files.
  • The date format for Italy and Spain has been corrected.
  • The status of Unpaused has been changed to Active.

Known Issues

The known issues in this launch are:

  • Issue

Possible performance when using Adobe AIR 2.0.

    Workaround: Re-install Adobe AIR 1.5.3.

  • Issue

When running Adobe Air 2.0, you cannot see the Update Now and Update Later buttons and Release Notes link on the Auto-Updater dialog.

Workaround: Click twice on the Updater task in the Windows taskbar, the first click to minimize the Auto-Updater dialog, the second click to maximize the Auto-Updater dialog. After maximizing the dialog, the scroll bars appear on the Auto-Updater dialog allowing users to access the Upgrade buttons.

  • Issue

The Sponsored Search minimum bid may not be populated after post change.

Workaround: Download your account again to update your Sponsored Search minimum bid.

  • Issue

Special letter characters not being recognized during import.

Workaround: Make certain that your imported file is properly encoded.

  • Issue

An incorrect error icon displays when the duplicate flag clears on the renamed (new) keyword and does not clear on the original (copied) keyword.

Workaround: Click on the existing row, the Enter button, or the Tab button after you edit the field to update the error icon correctly.

  • Issue

The ad and the keyword details module expand arrow disappears once the module has been collapsed.

Workaround: Contract the navigation tree column until the expand arrow reappears.

  • Issue

If a bid ends with zero, the zero is not displayed, i.e: 0.50 would display 0.5 in the drawer.

Workaround: There is no known workaround at this time.

  • Issue

The "Voted On" Keywords are excluded from the final keyword suggestions results set.

Workaround: Manually add the keywords that are suggested.

  • Issue

Sometimes after post changes, a campaign can appear in a bold font (modified status) in the navigation tree.

Workaround: Re-download of the account or the campaign should remove the bold status.

  • Issue

Sometimes after post changes, the deleted keywords still display on the navigation tree at the ad group level.

Workaround: Restart the Yahoo! Search Marketing Desktop application can fix this problem.

  • Issue

The date format is defaulting back to US format during import of the German’s English bulksheet.

Workaround: Pick the correct date format from the drop-down list as oppose to leaving the defaulted selection date format.
