Once your product feed has been processed, you’ll be able to download the Bid Feed file showing the categories your products have been categorized into. Before you can upload a bid feed, please do the following:
- Go to “My Account” screen
- Select the ‘”Bid via feed” option in the Bidding Preferences section
- Click the “Update Bid Preferences” button. This will automatically convert all “Place bids” and “Update Bids” links to point to the “Bid via Feed” screen
Below are steps to set up your initial Bid Feed.
- Upload a product feed if you haven’t already. If you have a Yahoo! Store or a ProStores account, you do not need to upload a product feed. This is done automatically for you.
- In the Bid via Feed screen, click the “Download” button to download the Bid Feed file (always named “bids.tsv”). This file shows a list of categories your products have been categorized into, the number of products in each category and the current minimum bid for each category. Click here for a description of each line in the spreadsheet.
- Enter your bids in the “bid_value column”
- Save bid feed file as “bids.txt”
- Upload the Bid feed file. Please Note: The bid feed file should always be named “bids.txt”
After a successful upload, the dashboard on the screen will be updated with the following information:
- Total bids submitted – Count of all bids entered in the bid feed
- Number of bids accepted – Number of bids that were accepted into the system
- Number of bids rejected – Number of bids that were rejected because of invalid bid entries (e.g.: special characters, blanks in the ‘bid_value’ field
- Number of bids ignored – Number of bids in the bid feed that were ignored because they were identical to previously submitted bids already in the system. For example, if your last successfully saved bid for the category “Running Shoes” was 0.25 and if you enter a bid of 0.25 for ‘Running Shoes” in the new bid feed file you upload, the 0.25 bid in the bid feed file will be ignored.
You’ll also see a new “Download your last bid feed” link. Clicking this link will allow you to download your last successful bid feed. This is useful if you choose to do incremental bid feeds. Click here to learn more about uploading an incremental bid feed.
Please Note: All bid changes can take up to 24 hours to be reflected on Yahoo! Shopping. Also, you cannot create your own bid file. If you have any problems downloading your bid feed file, please contact Customer Care.
