You open the dialog box for preference settings on a Widget by control-clicking it in Apple OS X or right-clicking it in Microsoft Windows and choosing Widget Preferences.

Settings are organized into tabs. Click a tab icon or name to open the tab, and then change the settings.

The dialog box usually has a General tab and a Window tab. Some Widgets have just a Window tab. Busy Widgets can have a number of other tabs, often for changing the appearance of the Widget or controlling other automatic functions.

When you are finished changing preferences, click Save.
