Heads Up Display shows all your Widgets above any other applications you have running. The initial shortcut key on both Windows and Macintosh for this feature is F8; click anywhere on the background to return to the normal desktop.

You can change the F8 hotkey to any other key by selecting Preferences from the Yahoo! Widgets gear icon menu in the dock or the system tray.
