My Recent Widgets menu is gray and empty. Why don't I have any recent Widgets?

When Widgets are closed, they are added to the Recent Widgets menu. The maximum number of Widgets in the menu is 10 on Windows. On Mac OS X, the maximum is the same as the number of Recent Documents in the Finder.

So the Recent Widget menu item is gray if you've never closed a Widget or, on Mac OS X, if your preferences specify none for the number of Recent Documents to keep track of.

To change the number of items remembered for Recent Documents on Mac OS X 10.3 or greater, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Apple icon on the menu bar.
  2. Select System Preferences.
  3. Click Appearance.
  4. Under Number of Recent Items: select the number of documents you want.
  5. Quit the Yahoo! Widgets application and restart it for the change to take effect.
