It's a Widget that helps you find other Widgets. We designed it as an alternative to using your browser to look for and get more widgets. It comes with the standard set of Yahoo! Widgets.
In its most compact form, the Yahoo! Widget Gallery Widget displays a summary of each of the featured widgets in succession.
When you expand the Widget, it offers a more detailed display with a combined summary and listing display for each Widget. Click the arrowhead in the Widget's title bar to switch between the summary display and the combined summary and listing display. The list under the summary shows Widgets in a particular category or Widgets selected during a search.
The default category is Featured Widgets, and you can access other categories by clicking Select Category at the bottom of the Widget. To search, type a word, words, or a phrase in the area with the magnifying glass, and then press Enter. To use previous searches, click the magnifying glass and select an option from the menu. Click an item in the listing to show its summary.
Using the Summary
The summary shows the title, author, and the beginning of its description. Click More Info to get that information, as well as the Widget's version history. Click View in Browser if you need to make it more legible.
The More Info panel includes individual user comments and ratings. Use the arrowhead buttons to scroll through the comments. The links Add Your Feedback and View All Comments open a browser page for these functions.
The summary also shows a user rating, how many times the Widget has been downloaded, and the current version number.
To download the Widget, do the following:
- Click Get Widget if there's an icon on that button for your computer's operating system, Apple or Microsoft Windows. After the Widget downloads, a window will appears with details about the Widget's first use.
- Click Use Widget or Close.
- If a browser window is launched, you need to download the necessary Unix Utilities.
