You open Widgets and then dock them to keep your most-used widgets tidy and handy.
You expand the dock to use it as a menu for opening the Yahoo!-authored Widgets that the dock recognizes. Move the cursor over the dock and click the + to expand the dock. Use the scrolling arrows at the opposite end to scroll through the graphical menu of Widgets the dock presents. Move the cursor over a grey-toned Widget to get its name; to open it, right-click it and choose Open Widget.
You can move the dock to twelve places around the edge of the desktop. You can also place the dock on the first or second monitor of an extended desktop.
Move the cursor over a color-toned Widget. Two controls show up. The first you can click to put the Widget back on the desktop with the square icon, or dock it with the minus icon, or delete it with the X. The second control, a gear, you can click to open the Preferences settings for the Widget.
Move the cursor over the dock, and click the (O) at the end to display all the open Widgets on your desktop. This Heads Up display mode lets you check on all your open Widgets in one glance. Click the background to redisplay the desktop.
