Some schools and offices have firewalls or proxy servers which are between your computer and the Internet. If this is your case, you need to set up Windows Media Player to pass through the firewall.

• Open Windows Media Player 9.0 or higher.
• Click "Tools" located on the Windows Media Player toolbar.
• Select "Options."
• Click on the "Network" tab.

In the “Streaming Protocols” section, remove the checkmarks on the Multicast, UDP, and TCP checkboxes.

Leave the checkmark in the HTTP checkbox.

In the “Streaming Proxy Settings,” click on the “Configure” button.

• • If you already know that your web browser is configured to use a web proxy, select the option labeled "Use proxy settings of the Web browser."
• • If you know the proxy address and port number, select the option labeled “Use the following proxy server:” and follow these steps:
• • Insert the proxy address
• • Insert the correct port number, either 80 or 8080.
• • If you are unsure about the Web browser settings or do not know your proxy server address, select the option labeled “Auto detect my proxy settings.”

Click "OK." Click "Apply" to save your new settings.

Click "OK" to close the Options box and return to the Windows Media Player.
