Each week, we'll ask you a series of multiple choice questions about the upcoming episode. All you have to do is enter your predictions before the show airs. You can create or join a private group and compete among your friends, or join the public group and see how you measure up.
The Apprentice Intern Contest runs over the entire course of The Apprentice Season Six (14 weeks), with the winner being determined after the season finale. You can join the game at any time beginning on Tuesday, December 12, but game play won't officially begin unitl January 3, 2007.
If you are not an existing Yahoo! ID holder, you will be asked to create a Yahoo! ID under which you can play the game. Follow the on-screen directions to completely fill out the entry form with your entry information. You are not required to complete this information to participate, but this information is mandatory if you wish to be considered to win the grand prize at the end of the season. A user who has not provided valid registration information will automatically be deemed ineligible and will not be considered for a prize.
Please note that you may only play the game under your own Yahoo! ID. Your "The Apprentice Intern Contest" account may not be transferred to another Yahoo! ID or played by another person. Also, you may not share an account with another person or allow another user to play under your Yahoo! ID.
All players registered for the game are automatically entered in the main public group, competing against all players in The Apprentice Intern Contest. To join an additional public group, go to The Apprentice Intern Contest homepage and click the "Sign Up" button. Select "Join a Public Group" then click the "Join" link beside the public group you would like to join.
If you wish to create a private group with your friends, you must first be a registered Yahoo! user and sign up for the game. To join a private group, you need a group ID # and password. To obtain this information, please contact the commissioner of the private group you would like to join. When you have the group ID # and password, go to The Apprentice Intern Contest homepage and click the "Sign Up" button. Select "Join a Private Group" then enter in the group ID # and password.
Players are automatically entered into the general public group, but can join up to three additional private/public groups. Players can submit only one set of predictions, which will be applied to all groups in which the user is participating.
Playing Season
The Apprentice Intern Contest runs throughout the entire season of The Apprentice 6. The game begins at 12:01 AM PT on January 3 and is tentatively scheduled to end with the airing of the season finale on April 8, 2007.
Sign-ups begin on Tuesday, December 12 and continue throughout the season. New weekly questions will often be posted on Wednesdays at approximately 1PM ET/10AM PT. The deadline for submitting your weekly picks is 8 PM ET/ 5 PM PT on the night a new episode of The Apprentice airs (usually Sunday). However, airtimes are subject to change and/or preemption, which may affect these deadlines. Should the deadlines be changed at any point during the season, notice will be posted on the contest homepage. The first set of questions will be posted at approximately 1 PM ET/10 AM PT on January 3, 2007.
Private Groups and Public Teams
All players registered for the game are automatically entered in the main public group, competing against all players of The Apprentice Intern Contest. But as a user, you have the option to create a private group and personally invite only those who you want to join. As the group creator, or commissioner, you can configure a few aspects of your group.
To join someone else's private group, the creator of the group must supply the group ID # and password.
Players can join up to a total of three private and/or public groups, but private group creators have the right to deny access and remove members from their private groups.
Scoring
The object of The Apprentice Intern Contest is to accumulate as many points as possible by correctly predicting what will occur during each new episode of The Apprentice.
Each week there will be 5-10 questions worth a total of 100 points. Point values for each question will vary weekly.
Bonus Points: You can accumulate additional bonus points over and above the 100 possible points each week by answering that week's questions earlier in the week. Bonuses are rewarded to correct predictions submitted by at least 5 PM PT Saturday (24 hours before the deadline for that week's picks at 5 PM PT on Sunday). Bonuses will increment by 5% for every additional six hours early your picks are made, up to a 50% bonus. Bonuses will be based on the time of your last submission. Therefore, if you make your predictions by Thursday morning at 11 AM PT before the Sunday deadline, and your predictions are all correct, you would receive 150 points for that week.
The Season Pick: At the start of the game you will be asked to select one candidate who you think will become the next Apprentice. Your selection is initially worth a possible 500 points awarded at the end of the game. You can change your candidate selection each week along with your weekly predictions up until one hour before the season finale episode airs. However, the possible points you can earn will be reduced by 50 points each time you change your pick after the deadline for a new episode of The Apprentice has passed. For example, if you decide to change your candidate while the answer period for Episode 6 is open, your Season Pick will only be worth a potential 250 points. If you change your candidate after the deadline for Episode 9 (or later) you will only receive 50 points for a correct Season Pick.
Similarly, if you are entering The Apprentice Intern Contest for the first time during the middle of the season, your Season Pick will be valued at a possible 500 points MINUS 50 points for each episode deadline that has already passed, down to a minimum of 50 possible points for a correct Season Pick after the deadline for Episode 9. For example, if you enter the game while the answer period for Episode 8 is open, you would only receive 150 points for a correct Season Pick. If you enter the game during the answer period for Episode 12, you will only receive 50 points for a correct Season Pick.
Weekly points willl be tallied. The player finishing with the highest season total in a private group will win the group and will receive the bragging rights of being called the private groups "Intern." There is no prize associated with winning a private group. For the main public group, the player finishing with the highest point total overall will be named the potential Grand Prize winner, subject to verification of eligibility. See The Apprentice Intern Contest Winner Grand Prize for more information.
Eligibility
The Apprentice Intern Contest is void where prohibited. To be eligible for a prize in the contest, you must be at least 18 years of age and a legal resident of the District of Columbia or the 50 United States.
In addition, the following groups of persons are not eligible to win prizes in the contest: employees and agents of Yahoo! Inc. (the "Sponsor"), JBMP, Inc., NBC Universal, Inc., their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, any other prize sponsor, any stations or media outlets broadcasting "The Apprentice," and any entity involved in the development, production, implementation, administration or fulfillment of the contest (the "Promotion Entities"), and the immediate family members and persons living in the same household as any of the above.
Ineligible users are nevertheless welcome to play the contest. Should an ineligible user receive the highest number of points in the contest, the prize will be awarded to the first eligible runner-up.
The Intern Commisioner Tools
All private group comissioners have a suite of tools to configure various parts of the game:
Episode Rules
The decisions of Yahoo! on all questions are final.
When the answer to a question is in doubt or there are multiple correct answers, the most correct answer will be selected at the discretion of Yahoo!. If more than one candidate is fired within one episode, players that correctly predicted any of those candidates would be fired will receive points.
Only events shown during the airing of The Apprentice count towards the questions in this game. Information revealed or shown during commercials, promos, lead-ins at the beginning of the show, including previous episode recaps and promos of future episodes do not count toward The Apprentice Intern Contest.
In addition, only regularly scheduled episodes of The Apprentice with new events that are part of The Apprentice competition will count toward The Apprentice Intern Contest. Information disclosed in episodes that are predominantly filled with highlights, recaps from previous episodes, or "here's what you didn't see" type revelations does not count in this game.
We strongly encourage players to accept email notifications so you can maximize on bonus points. To receive these reminders, go to The Apprentice Intern Contest homepage and select the "Edit" button in the "My Picks" column. Where it asks "Would you like to receive reminders prior to the deadline date via e-mail?," select "Yes."
These email notifications are sent when new questions are posted. Due to the nature of the Internet and e-mail delivery, notifications to your mailbox might be delayed or undelivered. It is the players' responsibility to ensure timely submission of selections regardless of the time of the reception of the game notifications.
If The Apprentice producers manipulate the show in any way not expected by or compatible to The Apprentice Intern Contest design, Yahoo! will make a best effort to score all relevant questions and adjust the scores or part of the game affected by the show. In some cases entire disqualification of sections of the game might be required. Should such an action be necessary, Yahoo! will post notice of the change on The Apprentice Intern Contest website.

Tiebreak System
In the event of a tie between two or more players at the end of the contest, a tiebreak system will be used. Among the tied players, the tie will be broken by using the following criteria, in the order listed below:
The Apprentice Intern Contest Winner Grand Prize
After the conclusion of the Contest, the eligible, verified player with the most points will be named "The Intern," which means they will get to shadow the winner of The Apprentice Season 6 TV series for two weeks during the year that The Apprentice is working for the Trump Organization.
There is no actual employment associated with the Grand Prize, however, the Grand Prize winner will receive a trip for the WINNER ONLY to the city in which the winner of The Apprentice Season 6 TV series chooses to work for the Trump Organization. Prize package includes round trip coach class air transportation from a major U.S. airport close to winner’s home (carrier and airport to be selected by Sponsor) to The Apprentice winner’s selected city; hotel accommodations for 14 nights; per diem for two weeks and an additional stipend. The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $13,000. Prize value may vary depending upon the actual cost of air transportation from point of departure and accommodations at time of reservation. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute ground transportation depending on the winner's proximity to the selected city. If destination is out of the United States, the grand prize winner must obtain a valid passport and any other documents necessary to comply with foreign government regulations.
Following the close of the contest period, the potential Grand Prize winner will be contacted by telephone and/or email to arrange a personal interview and pre-screening with the Sponsor (the "Pre-Screening"). The potential Grand Prize winner will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (collectively, an "Affidavit and Release"), together with a non-disclosure agreement ("NDA") and any other documentation or screening that may be required by Sponsor or the Trump Organization. As part of the Affidavit and Release, the Grand Prize winner will be required to give his/her consent for the Promotion Entities to seek, at their option, investigation reports from an outside source that will report on the potential Grand Prize winner's character, general reputation, creditworthiness, and/or other personal or character aspects as may be deemed relevant in the Sponsor's sole discretion. Failure to give approval will result in disqualification of the potential Grand Prize winner from the Prize Trip. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any potential Grand Prize winner or confirmed Grand Prize winner on the basis of that individual's investigative reports. Should a potential Grand Prize winner be disqualified SOLELY on the basis of his/her investigative reports, an alternate prize of equal value to the stated value of the Grand Prize will be awarded.
If the potential Grand Prize winner cannot be contacted, does not return a phone call or correspondence from the Promotion Entities within 7 days following attempted notification, or fails to comply with the Sponsor's verification process and/or eligibility requirements for the Pre-Screening, the potential Grand Prize winner may be disqualified and the prize awarded to an alternate winner. Similarly, the Affidavit and Release must be fully completed and returned to Promotion Entities within 7 days following the sending of those documents to the potential Grand Prize winner, or the potential Grand Prize winner may be disqualified and the prize awarded to an alternate winner. Unclaimed prizes or any portion thereof will not be awarded.
Except as specifically provided herein, the Grand Prize does not include taxes, insurance, telephone charges, personal expenses, travel arrangements between winner’s home and U.S. airport of departure, ground transportation, gratuities, passenger facility charges (PFCs), departure taxes, incidental charges, or any other item not specifically described in these Official Rules, and all express for any of the foregoing are the sole responsibility of the prize winner.
Winner will be required to choose three desired departure dates, in order of preference, within the year which The Apprentice is employed by the Trump Organization. Winner will be notified of confirmation within 30 days of travel. Once confirmed, trip dates and travel accommodations cannot be changed by winner; however, travel is subject to availability, blackout dates, and/or change due to circumstances beyond Promotion Entities’ control.
No travel extensions will be permitted, and any unused travel will be forfeited. The Grand Prize cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion or offer and may not be separated. All tickets issued in conjunction with the Grand Prize are not eligible for frequent flyer miles, and no code-share flights may be used.
The Grand Prize may not be transferred or assigned except by Sponsor. Only the listed prize will be awarded and no substitutions, cash equivalents or redemptions will be made, except that Sponsor reserves the right to substitute any prize package with another prize of equal or greater value in the event that the advertised prize (or any component thereof) is not available. Reporting and payment of all applicable taxes, fees, and/or surcharges, if any, arising out of, or resulting from, acceptance or use of a prize, are the sole responsibility of the winner of that prize. Yahoo! expressly disclaims any responsibility or liability for injury or loss to any person or property relating to the delivery and/or subsequent use of the prizes awarded.
