There are two ways to uninstall the Yahoo! Toolbar Version 7 for Internet Explorer.

Option 1: Via the toolbar

  1. Click the Settings button. If you do not see a gray or green version of this button, you may not have Version 7. Click here for help finding out which version of toolbar you have.
  2. Select "Help" then select "Uninstall toolbar".
  3. Click "Uninstall" on the uninstall page.
  4. Close any open IE windows. When you restart Internet Explorer, Yahoo! Toolbar will no longer be present.

Option 2: Via the Control Panel

The instructions for finding the Control Panel on the Start Menu differ depending on the version of Windows you are running. Once you are viewing the Control Panel you can uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar by following these steps:

  1. Double-click on "Add/Remove Programs".
  2. Scroll down and click on the "Yahoo! Toolbar" entry.
  3. Click on "Change/Remove."
  4. Close any open IE windows.

Yahoo! Toolbar is now uninstalled. Please start IE again after closing all your open IE browser windows and it will no longer be present.

If you follow these steps and Yahoo! Toolbar is still present, make sure you've closed all your open IE browser windows. Due to Internet Explorer being integrated with Windows, you might need to restart your computer to fully uninstall Yahoo! Toolbar.

If you like the functionality of Yahoo! Toolbar, instead of removing Yahoo! Toolbar, you can hide Yahoo! Toolbar or move Yahoo! Toolbar so that it takes up less space in your browser.
