You might have seen this warning:

"The installation of the scanning component required by Anti-Spy has been changed. Please update this Anti-Spy installation."

followed by the error:

"YPSR error: There was a problem initializing the scanner."

Or, you may have experienced some other fatal error when trying to run Yahoo! Anti-Spy and are unable to run Yahoo! Anti-Spy. There are some known issues with automatic updates for versions of Yahoo! Anti-Spy earlier than 1.13. You need to remove your Yahoo! Anti-Spy installation and re-install by doing the following:

1. Close any open Yahoo! Anti-Spy windows.
2. Open the Windows Control Panel and select "Add/Remove Programs".
3. Scroll down and click "Yahoo! Anti-Spy", then click "Change/Remove" to uninstall it.
4. Click "Run Anti-Spy" from the Yahoo! Toolbar and follow the instructions to download and install the latest version of Yahoo! Anti-Spy.
5. Select "Run Anti-Spy" from the Yahoo! Toolbar.

You should now be able to use all the features of Yahoo! Anti-Spy.
