Why does Yahoo! Site Solution ask for my business and contact information?

When you start using Yahoo! Site Solution for the first time, we'll ask you a series of questions about your business, including your business name and category, plus contact information like your address and phone number. We're not trying to sell you something — we'll actually use these details to set up your site!

We'll use your business name as the title of your new site, for example, and display selected contact information near the top or bottom of every page (the exact location will depend on the site design you choose). You can enter as many details as you like — only your business category and country are required.

We'll print these details exactly as you enter them in the initial Site Solution questionnaire, but you can, of course, change your contact information, business name, and business category anytime.

Why don't we use the contact information you provided when you signed up for your Web Hosting plan? The simple answer is that we don't know which details you'd like to display on your web site, or how you'd like them to appear.

You may receive bills from Yahoo! at one email address, for example, but use a different email address for all of your business correspondence. With Site Solution you can customize the details that appear on your pages.
